Welcome to the Music Department
Our department prides itself as a colourful and welcoming space for all learners in which all pupils can feel happy to express themselves through the many musical opportunities we have on offer, both within and outside the classroom. Within the Music Department at Dumbarton Academy, we currently offer a range of extra-curricular activities including:
- Junior Band (Orchestral Instruments)
- Vocal Group
- School Show
Our classrooms have 10 new iMac desktop computers and a high spec iMac for the recording studio. Pupils learn how to use Music Technology to develop their ICT skills within the context of recording and mixing music. We view to introduce Music Technology as a National 5 option in the 2018/2019 academic year. We are currently piloting an integrated S3 course with Music and Music Technology combined to give learners a fantastic learning experience for better options at the end of their BGE phase.
